| Is an organization made up
of dedicated Christians from many local churches who have a concern for
people. The ministry gets its name from a man of the Bible named
"Barnabas" which means "Son of Encouragement".
Everyone, at some point, needs to know that someone cares enough to share
a burden or a joy. Encouragement, prayer, and most of all, the love
of Jesus Christ, are the focal points at the Barnabas Coffeehouse. |

| To provide a comfortable
place with a warm Christian atmosphere for all to come and fellowship was
the goal, so in June 1991 a small group of Christians made a commitment to
lease the building at 19 W Spring Street. Happy with the results of
the ministry, in July 1993, after holding several fund raisers, enough
money was accumulated for a down payment to secure a mortgage and
purchase the building. During these past years, numerous people have
enjoyed the coffeehouse and many have been helped, befriended, and
encouraged. |

| Barnabas Ministries is a
registered 501C3 non-profit corporation and operates under a local
board of trustees who represent many Christian denominations.
Barnabas is an evangelical outreach ministry and is not affiliated with
any church or denomination. People are encouraged to attend regular
worship services at the church of their choice. No regularly
scheduled meetings are held on Sundays or Wednesday evenings to avoid
conflict with routine church schedules. It is the intent of the
ministry to support and cooperate with local churches in servicing the
needs of our community. |

Other
Activities of Barnabas Ministries include:
Hosting
special music groups for teens and youth
Providing
Christian educational materials such as Bibles, tracts, Christian
magazines, etc., free of charge
Hosting
evangelists to conduct community crusades
Providing
help and support to people experiencing a crisis. Present at
every Barnabas activity are Christians who are ready to listen, pray, and
help in any way that they are able. |
